April bei kitev – Musik, Film, Geschichte und kreatives Miteinander
Der April wird vielseitig! Neben unserem wöchentlichen Programm mit offenen Angeboten zum Mitmachen gibt es diesen Monat wieder einige besondere Veranstaltungen, die wir euch ans Herz legen wollen.
Am Mittwoch, den 8. April um 19 Uhr laden wir gemeinsam mit Dissens Duisburg zum Vortrag „Leo Elser – Der Traum vom Frieden" in den Leerstand ein. Ein spannender Abend über eine beeindruckende historische Figur – kommt vorbei und diskutiert mit.
Wer Lust auf Live-Musik hat, sollte sich den 15. April vormerken: Ab 18 Uhr spielen THE KIRALINER ihr Opener-Konzert im Leerstand, danach geht's nahtlos über in eine offene Jam-Session. Musiker*innen bekommen ein Freigetränk – also Instrumente einpacken und vorbeikommen! Die Veranstaltung ist barrierearm.
Am Donnerstag, den 16. April um 19 Uhr zeigt die Initiative „Oberhausen sattelt um" den Dokumentarfilm „Cycling Cities" von Ingwar Perowanowitsch (2025) im Leerstand. Ein brandaktueller Film über Fahrradkultur und urbane Mobilität – passend zum Frühling.
Neu im Programm: Am Freitag, den 24. April von 13 bis 16 Uhr gibt es KlamotteKreativ mit Samia & Anna im Leerstand. Hier trifft kreatives Arbeiten mit Klamotten auf ein IdeenCafé mit Antragsunterstützung, Co-Working und Ideenaustausch. Die Veranstaltung ist barrierearm – einfach vorbeischauen!
Und natürlich laufen auch unsere wöchentlichen Angebote weiter: Freitags wird beim Community Dinner ab 17 Uhr gemeinsam gekocht und ab 19:30 Uhr zusammen gegessen – ein schöner Ausklang der Woche. Und mittwochs lädt der SträkelCLUB von 14 bis 16 Uhr zum Häkeln, Stricken und Basteln ein – offen für alle, die Lust auf Handarbeit und nette Gesellschaft haben.

April is shaping up to be diverse! Alongside our weekly program of open activities to join in, this month brings some special events we'd love to highlight for you.
On Wednesday, April 8 at 7 pm, we're hosting the talk "Leo Elser – Der Traum vom Frieden" (Leo Elser – The Dream of Peace) at the Leerstand, in cooperation with Dissens Duisburg. An engaging evening about a remarkable historical figure – come by and join the discussion.
If you're in the mood for live music, mark April 15 in your calendar: From 6 pm, THE KIRALINER will play their opener concert at the Leerstand, followed by an open jam session. Musicians get a free drink – so pack your instruments and come along! The event is low-barrier accessible.
On Thursday, April 16 at 7 pm, the initiative "Oberhausen sattelt um" screens the documentary "Cycling Cities" by Ingwar Perowanowitsch (2025) at the Leerstand. A brand-new film about cycling culture and urban mobility – perfect timing for spring.
New to the program: On Friday, April 24 from 1 to 4 pm, join KlamotteKreativ with Samia & Anna at the Leerstand. Creative upcycling with clothes meets an IdeenCafé offering support with applications, co-working and idea exchange. The event is low-barrier accessible – just drop in!
And of course, our weekly offerings continue as usual: On Fridays, the Community Dinner kicks off with cooking together from 5 pm and eating together from 7:30 pm – a lovely way to wrap up the week. And on Wednesdays, the SträkelCLUB invites you to crochet, knit and craft from 2 to 4 pm – open to anyone who enjoys handcraft and good company.
