Wir sind in drei Gruppen aufgeteilt:

Innenausbau. Hier entsteht alles, womit später wirklich gekocht wird – und zwar so, dass es auf einer holprigen Fahrt an Ort und Stelle bleibt.

Sonnenschutz. Wer schon mal im Juli vier Stunden lang an einem Verkaufsfenster stand, weiß, warum das keine Kleinigkeit ist. Schatten entscheidet darüber, ob Menschen bleiben oder weitergehen.

Anleitung. Vielleicht die unauffälligste, aber wichtigste Gruppe: Sie schreibt und zeichnet auf, wie das Fahrzeug funktioniert. Damit später auch jemand die Küche aufbauen und bedienen kann, der beim Bauen nicht dabei war. Genau das entscheidet, ob so ein Projekt getragen wird – oder an wenigen Personen hängen bleibt.

It smells of sawdust. Our new mobile Refugees' Kitchen is heading into the home straight — and in the HSD workshop, work is happening in every corner at once.

We've split into three groups:

Interior build. This is where everything we'll actually cook with is taking shape — and it has to stay exactly where it belongs, even on a bumpy drive.

Sun shading. Anyone who has ever stood at a serving window for four hours in July knows this is no small detail. Shade decides whether people stay or walk on.

Manual. Perhaps the least conspicuous group, but the most important one: they're writing and drawing up how the vehicle works. So that later on, someone who wasn't there for the build can still set up the kitchen and run it. That's exactly what determines whether a project like this is carried by many — or ends up resting on a few people.
